Our Reach
North Miami Beach is one of the most misunderstood names on the South Florida map. Despite the name, it isn't on the beach — it's an inland city sitting just west of Sunny Isles, bordered by Aventura to the north and Biscayne Boulevard cutting through its center. NE 163rd Street, also signed as Sunny Isles Boulevard and North Miami Beach Boulevard, is its main east–west artery. The Ancient Spanish Monastery — the oldest building in the Western Hemisphere, brought from Spain by William Randolph Hearst in the 1920s — is in North Miami Beach. Greynolds Park, with its mature banyans and live oaks, is in North Miami Beach. The character of the city is older, quieter, and more residential than the high-rise neighbors east of the Intracoastal.
Detailing Vice is a short drive away in Aventura, and a meaningful share of our regular work comes out of the established neighborhoods of NMB. The cars are different here than they are in Sunny Isles — fewer hypercars, more enthusiast-grade collectors, more Porsche 928s and 944s in original paint, more classic Mercedes saloons that have been in the same family for decades, more thoughtful daily drivers.
Get in TouchWhy Choose Us
North Miami Beach has a different paint-care profile than its eastern neighbors. The salt load is lower — you're a few miles inland, not on the barrier island — but the trade-off is more tree exposure. Mature banyans and royal palms in older NMB neighborhoods drop pollen, sap, and palm bracts that pit clear coat if they sit. The sun load is the same as anywhere in the region. And many NMB residents store their cars in older garages without climate control, which means humidity stays high and oxidation runs continuously. We build coating and maintenance plans around those specifics.
Our NMB clientele also tends to keep cars longer. We see twenty-year ownership stories here, multi-generation cars, and we treat them accordingly. The conversation around an original-paint W126 Mercedes in Eastern Shores is fundamentally different than the conversation around a leased SUV — and that's the conversation we're built to have.

Ceramic coating delivers most of its value in two situations: long-term ownership and outdoor or semi-outdoor storage. NMB checks both boxes for a lot of our clients. A properly applied multi-year ceramic on a long-kept car keeps the paint healthy under sustained UV exposure, repels tree sap and pollen so a quick rinse can clear it, and dramatically extends the life of factory clear coat. For original-paint classics, we spec a coating that's gentle on aged finishes and reversible if needed.
Book This Service →PPF is the only honest defense against rock chips on US-1 and Biscayne Boulevard, where the surface tends to be older and rougher than newer South Florida arterials. For NMB collectors who actually drive their cars to local meets, regional tours, or down to the Keys, a partial-front or full-vehicle PPF protects the paint that can't be replaced. On vintage cars where matched paint is hard to source, PPF is often a non-negotiable.
Book This Service →Most older garaged cars in NMB show a combination of micro-marring from years of less-than-ideal washing, oxidation from sustained UV, and embedded contaminants that need iron decontamination before any compound touches the paint. We diagnose under proper inspection lighting and run multi-stage correction calibrated to clear coat thickness. On single-stage paint — common on pre-1990s vehicles — we work conservatively and document each step.
Book This Service →Older interiors in NMB cars tell stories you can read in the upholstery. Sun-baked dashboards, faded leather on seat bolsters, headliners that have started to droop in cars that lived without garage AC. We deep-clean, condition, and restore where we can, and we're honest where the right call is replacement rather than restoration. We use leather-specific conditioners, steam extraction on appropriate fabrics, and ozone treatment for cars that have absorbed years of South Florida humidity.
Book This Service →Maintenance washing in NMB has its own quirks. Royal palms and banyans drop sap that bonds chemically when it bakes in the sun, and the only correct removal is a dedicated solvent — not a power wash. We hand-wash, decontaminate, and follow with deionized rinse on coated cars. We schedule maintenance around the natural lifecycle of the trees over your car: pollen heavy in spring, sap pressure higher in late summer.
Book This Service →This is the heartland of our specialty work. NMB is where the long-term collector cars live. We have wet-sanded factory single-stage paint on early E-class cars, refinished cellulose-era panels, and brought back gloss on cars that came to us looking finished but were just dirty. The work is patient and it doesn't fit on a menu — every project starts with a conversation about originality, value, and use.

South Florida Climate
Inland from the barrier island, the salt load drops but every other South Florida stressor stays high. UV index runs 9 to 11 most of the year. Hurricane season — June 1 through November 30 — brings heavy rain and tropical-storm winds that drive salt mist farther inland than people realize. Pollen runs heavy from February through May. Lovebug season hits in May and again in September, with clear-coat etching damage starting after about thirty minutes in the sun. South Florida's hard water leaves calcium spotting on paint that's been washed in the driveway and air-dried, and that spotting bonds to clear coat under heat cycles.
In NMB specifically, tree exposure is the variable that distinguishes the local paint environment. Banyans, royal palms, gumbo limbos, and live oaks line many of the older streets. Sap, pollen, fruit, and bird droppings all need to be cleared promptly — a coated car forgives delay; an uncoated one doesn't.

About the Studio
Detailing Vice is operated by working specialist detailers focused on classic and exotic vehicles. We're based in Aventura — five to ten minutes from any NMB address — and we run a controlled-environment shop with proper paint correction lighting, dust management, and dedicated bays for coating cure time. We also operate the Detailing Vice Academy, training detailers around the country. The reason that matters to an NMB owner is that our process is documented, our standards are repeatable, and our team has deep experience with the long-term-ownership cars NMB is full of.

FAQ
Often, yes — sometimes spectacularly so. We measure clear coat thickness first, then build a correction plan around what's safely available. Many NMB cars come in looking permanent and walk out at 80 to 95 percent of original gloss. Some cars are too far gone for correction alone; those we recommend a different path.
Yes. Single-stage paint is its own discipline — we don't treat it like clear-coat paint and we don't apply modern coatings to it without a careful assessment. For preservation projects, our default is the lightest possible correction and a coating tier that protects without dominating the finish.
Less salt, more tree exposure. Lower marine load, similar UV load. Net effect: NMB is generally easier on coatings than Sunny Isles, but the maintenance discipline matters because tree contaminants etch fast in the sun.
Yes. We coordinate pickup and drop-off throughout NMB, from Eastern Shores to Sky Lake to the Greynolds Park area. Most clients prefer the concierge route.
Often, yes — that's actually one of the best use cases. A ceramic coating on a car you intend to own long-term protects the clear coat that exists today, which is finite and not replaceable. The coating earns its money over five to seven years of paint preservation.
Get Started
We work with NMB owners every week. To start, send us photos of the car, tell us where you keep it, and tell us how you use it. We'll spec a service plan that matches the car, the storage, and the long-term plan.
