South Florida Climate
Hollywood spans a meaningful slice of geography — from oceanfront A1A on the east to the inland golf-course neighborhoods of Emerald Hills several miles west. Salt load varies accordingly. Cars within a block or two of the Broadwalk see real marine exposure; cars in Emerald Hills see almost none. The constants are UV (index 9 to 11 year-round), heat (surface temps over 150°F on dark paint in summer), and hurricane season from June through November. Pollen runs February through May. Lovebugs hit twice a year, May and September, with clear-coat etching damage starting at thirty minutes.
Hollywood-specific stressors: Broadwalk-adjacent cars get sand carried in from the beach and bonded by sunscreen residue and UV. Emerald Hills cars under mature canopy trees get sap pressure in late summer. Event cars get iron fallout and brake dust accumulation that requires iron decontamination before correction. About the Studio
Detailing Vice is a specialist auto detailing studio for classic and exotic vehicles, headquartered in Aventura and serving Hollywood and the broader South Florida market. We operate from a controlled-environment shop with proper paint correction lighting, dust management, and dedicated coating cure bays. Our team also runs the Detailing Vice Academy, training working detailers around the country in modern paint correction, ceramic, and PPF technique. The academy work is the reason our internal process is documented and consistent — every car we work on follows the same diagnostic, the same lighting, the same finishing standards.

Yes — and we recommend booking at least seven to ten days ahead of the event. A proper concours-grade detail isn't a same-day service. We diagnose, decontaminate, correct where appropriate, polish, finish, and dress — and we dress in a way that holds up to a parking-lot day under the sun without flashing or attracting dust.
If the car is garaged and rarely sees sun, ceramic mostly buys you a wash advantage and long-term clear-coat preservation. If it's driven regularly — to the country club, into Hollywood, to events — it earns its money on UV and contamination protection. We tell owners honestly when ceramic is an upgrade versus when wax is sufficient.
Hollywood is broader. Beach-adjacent Hollywood is more like Sunny Isles — high salt, high UV. Inland Hollywood is more like Aventura — lower salt, same UV, different tree exposure. The right answer is to spec the protection plan to where the car actually lives.
